Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom operator, spent the least within the 2024 spectrum public sale. The telco stated that it acquired spectrum within the 1800 MHz band in two circles – Bihar and West Bengal. The 1800 MHz band is utilized by the telco to supply 4G companies. Reliance Jio’s spectrum footprint has elevated to 26,801 MHz (uplink + downlink) after this public sale.
The telco spent a complete of Rs 973.63 crore on this public sale. Jio acquired 5 MHz extra spectrum within the 1800 MHz band in Bihar for Rs 420.25 crore. In West Bengal, the telco spent Rs 553.38 crore to amass 9.4 MHz of extra spectrum within the 1800 MHz band.
