Cisco Optics Podcast Episode 36
Fascinating laser analysis initiatives you want you considered, with Juliet Gopinath. Half 2 of 9.
Lasers have been round for over six a long time. Since their invention, they’ve discovered their means into many functions which have modified our lives. Optical communications is in fact considered one of them, and there are lots of that will shock you. There’s additionally nonetheless loads of room to take laser efficiency to new heights, resulting in much more new functions.
In Episode 36, we proceed our dialog with laser and optics professional Juliet Gopinath, Professor on the College of Colorado Boulder. She explains her use of time resolved spectroscopy to enhance semiconductor laser energy.
– Pat Chou, Cisco Optics Product Supervisor
Juliet Gopinath is the Alfred T. and Betty E. Look Professor of Electrical, Pc and Vitality Engineering and Physics on the College of Colorado Boulder. She acquired her B.S. diploma in Electrical Engineering from the College of Minnesota and her M.S. and Ph.D. levels at MIT. She was a member of technical employees at MIT Lincoln Laboratory from 2005 to 2009. Since then, she has led a analysis group on the College of Colorado Boulder. Her present analysis pursuits embody ultrafast lasers, nonlinear optics, mid-infrared supplies, spectroscopy, orbital angular momentum and adaptive optical units.
