Dr. Akira Kakugo and his group from Hokkaido College in Japan despatched us a video presentation of his current paper ‘Cooperative cargo transportation by a swarm of molecular machines’, revealed in Science Robotics.
‘Regardless of the developments in macro-scale robots, the event of a lot of small-size robots remains to be difficult, which is essential to boost the scalability of swarm robots,’ says Dr. Kakugo. Within the paper, researchers confirmed it’s doable to collectively transport molecular cargo by a swarm of synthetic molecular robots (engineered programs with organic/molecular sensors, processors and actuators) responding to gentle.
