A Darkish Internet leak website identified to be operated by the infamous ransomware group APLHV/BlackCat was taken offline on Dec. 7 and now menace intelligence consultants have confirmed the outage is a part of regulation enforcement motion towards the group.
RedSense Intelligence posted on social media that it “can affirm that #ALPHV aka BlackCat ransomware gang’s website has been taken down by regulation enforcement,” on Dec. 8.
Darkish Studying has not been in a position to independently confirm regulation enforcement is behind the BlackCat/ALPHV website takedown.
Because it first emerged in November 2021, BlackCat/ALPHV has listed greater than 650 firms on its leak website.
Legislation enforcement has come beneath scrutiny for not taking extra aggressive motion towards BlackCat/ALPHV associates like Scattered Spider, a ransomware group behind brazen cyberattacks towards MGM Resorts, Caesars, and extra.
On Nov. 16, the FBI and CISA launched a joint advisory about Scattered Spider, noting the group makes use of BlackCat/ALPHV ransomware for his or her cybercrimes.
