Since some model replace of macOS Monterey (do not bear in mind which one), the customized icons I beforehand created by pasting .jpg or .png pictures into some paperwork properties (prime left) stopped working and confirmed up as “clean icons” on the Desktop.
Very irritating.
I lately upgraded to Ventura, hoping for a correction : no cube 🙁 .
Then I attempted a number of alternate strategies for creating customized icns, however the issue subsisted.
Lastly I discovered a quite simple workaround :
- paste into the doc properties your customized picture
- proper click on the clean doc icon and choose “Rename”
- cancel the rename
=> the customized icn reveals up !
Clearly, the cancelled rename forces a Finder’s refresh for the icon, and solved my drawback.
