MacOS: Chrome- Cannot edit UserDataDir coverage on native residence laptop

I’m attempting to edit some Chrome insurance policies alone Mac (non group) which I’ve admin entry to. For instance, the ‘UserDataDir’ coverage (https://chromeenterprise.google/insurance policies/?coverage=UserDataDir) so I can set an exterior onerous drive location. My downside is, it doesn’t matter what I do, Chrome would not see the modifications.

I simply wish to make this straightforward change:

<?xml model="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist model="1.0">
<dict>
<key>UserDataDir</key>
<string>/Volumes/GODZ/Misc/ChromeCanary/</string>
</dict>
</plist>

A part of the issue is when trying to find how to do that, I’ve come throughout a number of solutions that time to a number of completely different recordsdata/areas to edit so it isn’t even clear which is the correct one:

  • Create/edit com.google.Chrome.plist file in /Library/Managed Preferences/
  • Create/edit com.google.Chrome.plist file in /Library/Managed Preferences/Preferences
  • Create/edit com.google.Chrome.plist file in /Library/Preferences
  • Create/edit com.google.Chrome.plist file in Customers/Library/Managed Preferences/
  • Create/edit com.google.Chrome.plist file in Customers/Library/Managed Preferences/Preferences
  • Create/edit com.google.Chrome.plist file in Consumer/Library/Preferences
  • Edit com.google.Chrome.manifest in /Functions/Google Chrome.app/Contents/Assets/com.google.Chrome.manifest/Contents/Assets/

May somebody please inform me which is the correct file/location and what I would like to alter to do that?
