The DoT urged the residents to be cautious when receiving calls from unfamiliar worldwide numbers that don’t begin with +91. Residents are suggested to report any suspected fraudulent communications via the Chakshu facility on the Sanchar Saathi platform or by calling the 1930 cybercrime helpline.

“The DoT advises Residents that they need to present warning with respect to answering calls from unfamiliar worldwide numbers which aren’t beginning with +91 and which claims to be from authorities authorities of India. Residents are suggested to report such suspected fraud communications at Chakshu facility on Sanchar Saathi (sancharsaasthi.gov.in),” the Ministry Of Communications mentioned.
